Mama June vowed to lose weight after her ex, Sugar Bear, announced that he was getting married again. Mama June completely changed her diet and exercise habits and, when she hit a weight-loss plateau, she underwent a gastric sleeve procedure, known as a vertical sleeve gastrectomy, in 2016, People reports. She also had excess skin removed from her neck, arms, back, and stomach, underwent a breast reduction, and got a set of veneers.

Mama June hit another weight-loss plateau after her gastric sleeve surgery, so she started working out with a trainer to try to lose even more weight. Eventually, she went from weighing 460 pounds to wearing a size 4. Mama June’s trainer, Kenya Crooks, told People that the reality star completely changed her diet, too. Among other things, she swapped flavored waters for soda and replaced the junk food she used to love to eat with watermelon, grapes, and apples. Mama June documented the whole experience on her reality show, Mama June: From Not to Hot. “I’ve worked my ass off, working out getting healthy,” Mama June said during her show’s finale. “And now I feel like becoming the person on the outside that I always felt like on the inside.”

BTW: Mama June announced on Twitter in mid-August that she’s back filming season two of her reality show so that people can see what her life is like after her weight loss.
