HENRICO, Va. (WRIC) — Henrico County Public Schools are preparing for the upcoming academic year by holding a job fair to seek new nutrition workers and bus drivers.
Interested candidates can attend the fair on Wednesday, July 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Members of the HCPS Human Resources, School Nutrition Services, and Pupil Transportation departments will be at the HCPS Central Office/Eastern Henrico Government Center July 12 to talk with interested candidates. The job fair will take place in the facility’s Community Room.
“We need strong bus driver candidates for our training sessions,” said Josh Davis, HCPS director of pupil transportation. “This time of year we need to fill positions opening through summer attrition. We will be training new drivers for contracted and substitute positions for [the] school year 2017-18.”
“Working in a cafeteria at one of our HCPS schools offers employees the flexibility of a great schedule that complements the school calendar,” said Peggy Gordon, the school division’s director of school nutrition services.
With no nights or weekends required, Gordon encourages people to “join a great team” to feed the children.
