Z Nutrition Philippines offers healthy food at your doorstep

Result. This is the promise of Z Nutrition Philippines, owned by pastry Chef Zac Pascua and business partner Rad Pelayo, for all their consumers who choose to trust the healthy meals they offer. Located at the Medical City in Pasig, this food kiosk might just be the one you’re looking for to support your weight-loss desires.

Dubbed as the “Kusina Master”, Chef Zac went through long roads to get to where he is now. Originally, he studied Accountancy at the Philippine School of Business Administration but later on fell in love with food and cooking.

It runs in the blood, he also shared that his family can really cook well.

Chef Zac became a pastry chef after graduating at the Center for Asian Culinary Studies (CACS) in 2005. Since then, his path looked clearer as if it’s God who led him directly to this career.

“I never liked working in a cubicle [office] during a regular nine-hour shift,” Chef Zac said “I prefer standing whole day cooking even [if] it takes 12 to 16 hours of cooking nonstop.”

After spending his fresh-graduate days in teaching culinary classes in CACS and working in hotels and restaurants, Chef Zac followed his passion. It was in September last year that he decided to put up his own business of delivering packed meals around Metro Manila. He first put up Z Kitchen, the origin of all his now food businesses: Z Cupcakes, Z Cakes and Z Nutrition.

Picking up inspiration from those who are already in the market, he felt that there’s something lacking in other establishments’ menus. This opted him to open a virtual one-stop shop of affordable, yet nutritious, ready-to-eat meals.

Z Nutrition caters to people who want to trim down their weight and maintain it at a healthy state. They believe that healthy living doesn’t necessarily mean depriving ones self from enjoying delicious meals. Instead, it promotes balanced intake of lean proteins, carbs and fats. Monitoring the calorie count and knowing which food to avoid and preserve are their beneficial functions.

Moreover, they also want to serve those hardworking millennials and adults who live in condominiums and have no time to prepare breakfast, lunch or dinner by themselves. Most of the time, they end up resorting to buy fast-food meals that are obviously low in nutrition. Patients with dietary requirements, such as those who are diagnosed with diabetes or hypertension, can also trust Z Nutrition as it personalizes dishes fit for their clients’ needs.

Chef Zac boasts that most of the recipes used for Z Nutrition are of his own and the customers never repeat the same meal again in more than three months. Based from recipes around the world, he alters them and produces sumptuous and nutrient-dense food.

Below are their Rates and Meal Plans:

  • 1200 kcal meals for five days is php 1,800 (P360 per day)
  • 1500 kcal meals for five days is php 2,000 (P400 per day)

With its signature tagline “#MyPersonalChef”, Z Nutrition is indeed the go-to of the health conscious. For the past six months, it has been targeting gymgoers from 360 Fitness, El Pueblo, Anytime Fitness, Royale Manila and Gym Rat. Z Nutrition gets clients from direct referrals of gym instructors for the improvement of their well-being.

This month Z Nutrition plans to cater to diabetic, cardiovascular and hypertensive patients of surrounding hospitals in Ortigas area are already set. Since its main mode of transaction is delivery, it treats this activity as an information campaign, in order to reach more consumers.

Importance of proper nutrition

Healthy eating improves overall health, battles weight gain, regulates the mood, boosts brain power and gives energy needed to keep going all day.

According to online newsletter Health Line, keeping a balanced and well-maintained diet is your way of providing the body the nutrients it needs to function correctly. This also means monitoring your calorie intakes. On average, a person needs to eat about 2,000 calories a day to keep up with their weight.

However, a person’s specific daily calorie intake can vary depending on their age, gender and physical activity level. Z Nutrition and its custom meals are also designated for people with special dietary needs.

Furthermore, knowing where your daily calories come from is just as important as knowing the number of calories you consume. Experts suggest that you limit your consumption of empty calories, meaning those that provide little or no nutritional value. It’s still important to eat, according to Chef Zac. In addition, what consumers should keep an eye out for is the nutritional value of every meal.

Without good nutrition, the body is more susceptible to disease, infection, fatigue and poor performance. It takes discipline and determination to completely loosen your bad eating habits. Z Nutrition leads its clients to consuming high-quality proteins, carbohydrates, heart-healthy fats, vitamins, minerals and water, while minimizing processed foods, saturated fats and alcohol.

Admittedly, Z Nutrition acknowledges the body’s struggle to adapt, especially to a diet like this. In the long run, once the consumer fully digested not just in his stomach but also in mind that eating healthy means beneficial results, he or she will automatically adjust and get accustomed.
